Yesterday while participating in a game of Pixel Sumo (SLURL), s the game was wrapping up, I received a slightly cryptic IM from someone whose name sadly escapes me at the time of my writing this. The gist of the message was he had seen me participate in the game of Pixel Sumo, and offered me a change to join his marketing panel, run by a company called Market Truths Ltd.. Instantly you could color me intrigued, any business that requires more thought then a few mouse clicks and colorful prims interests me! He invited me to their office (SLURL) and after a breif introduction and explanation, I decided to join.
When joining, I was taken to a webpage that profiled my interests in SL, as well as how often I'd allow them to contact me. Being the diverse person I am, I checked nearly all the boxes! Now, here's the interesting part- They pay you 20L$ to sign up (after you're over 30 days old in SL, of course), and then they will contact you often to join in interviews, surveys, and focus groups. Every time you get invited and complete what they want, you get paid! But is there really a market for Market Reports in SL? Would any content creators really pay up to 50 USD for a report that might just say, "Make better clothes and hair"?
In any case, they've already finished one report on Women's clothing, and while I can't vouch for it because I'm not going to spend my money on it, I really do hope these reports are as good as they're being made to seem- we might get a better, more content rich SL! I digress, however- are there any content creators out there who'd pay for reports like this?
